Hello, I’m

DANIEL SPUTA

ABOUT ME

Daniel is a product and operations-focused project manager with a background in mobile app development, agile delivery, and cross-functional execution. He brings a mix of product thinking, technical understanding, and hands-on experience leading teams from concept through launch across mobile, web, and AR experiences.

Over the years, he has shifted from pure execution into improving how teams work. He focuses on building cleaner systems, reducing manual processes, and introducing lightweight automation to make workflows more scalable and efficient. This includes experimenting with AI and LLM-based tools to streamline project intake, organize information, and support faster decision-making across teams.

Daniel has led projects from early ideation through production and release, working closely with design, engineering, and stakeholders to translate ideas into structured execution. His approach combines agile practices with a strong emphasis on clarity, ownership, and continuous improvement.

He is particularly interested in the intersection of product, operations, and AI—where better systems and tooling can unlock faster, more effective teams.

Introduction to the Hybrid Approach in Mobile App Development

Embracing a hybrid development approach, our methodology integrates the precision of the Waterfall model with the agility of Agile, supported by JIRA’s project management tools. This fusion ensures a structured start and adaptive enhancement of mobile apps, delivering high-quality products that exceed user expectations in the dynamic app development landscape.

Case Study: Agile Development of a Mobile App

The client, being the fourth largest energy broker in the United States, faced challenges in enhancing adoption, engagement, and satisfaction levels across their sales, supplier, and customer portals. To address these challenges, the project team adopted Agile Software development methodologies to gather requirements from various stakeholders. This process involved the creation of personas, flow diagrams, use cases, and user stories to ensure a comprehensive understanding of user needs and expectations. The solution involved an iterative participatory design process that started with low-fidelity wireframes, advanced to interactive prototypes, and culminated in high-fidelity models. By following Agile methods that emphasize continuous implementation and deployment, the team successfully published the mobile app on both Google Play and the Apple Store, aiming to improve user experience across the board.

What It Takes to Be an Security Analyst

The 2015 Business Journal NEPA article by Dave Gardner discusses the crucial role of information security analysts in protecting against cyber threats, emphasizing the growing demand for these roles. Featuring insights from Daniel Sputa of UM Tech, it highlights the need for proactive security measures, the human element in cybersecurity, and the complexity of facing modern cyber threats like corporate espionage and identity theft. Sputa advocates for multi-layered security approaches and continuous user training to stay ahead of hackers, underscoring the dynamic and evolving nature of information security work.

Student Spotlight: Daniel Sputa

Since joining Marywood University in 2006, I’ve been actively involved in various clubs, including leadership roles in the International Club and Business Student Association, as well as participation in the Math Club, Student Government, and Graduate Student Council. My involvement in the International Club, in particular, stems from my background as an international student, offering me a platform to exchange cultural insights and learn about diverse customs and religions. During International Week, we curated events to broaden the Marywood community’s global perspective and knowledge. The International Club holds significant importance for two main reasons: it fosters cultural and religious awareness and appreciation through activities like tasting international foods and sharing stories. Additionally, it provides a supportive community for international students, helping them navigate and overcome the challenges of cultural adaptation and integration, making their transition smoother and more engaging.
